What makes a measurement-based pattern sewable
- Seams that are sewn together are the same length (trued), and notches match.
- Ease is stated, so you know the finished size before you cut.
- The PDF prints at true scale with a test square you can measure.
- Seam allowance and cutting instructions are on the pieces.

What is the best free sewing pattern generator from measurements?
For free with an account, FreeSewing has the most designs. Without an account, PatternFit shows every style free on screen and gives one style's full PDF free each day.
Can ChatGPT draft a sewing pattern?
It can describe drafting steps and formulas, but it does not produce a true-scale, tiled PDF with trued seams. Use a pattern generator for the printable file.
Do I still need a toile?
Yes for fitted garments. Any pattern drafted from measurements is a starting point; one test version usually shows the small changes your body needs.
